Dear Friends,

We – Adam Sadoff and Josh Glazer – are organizing Buckets for Bob; a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to help our friend, Bob Aker.

Bob has been diagnosed with ALS or Amylotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Visit http://www.ALSA.org for more information.

The disease weakens your whole body from head to toe and is eventually a fatal disease. Because of this disease Bob can no longer work. Our parents tell us the medical bills for the Aker family will be huge.

Bob is an extraordinary guy. Bob and his wife, Chris, have three boys Bobby (20), Paul (16), and Ben (13).

He has worked at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) for 17 years. He has helped numerous amounts of people to love sports through his job. In fact, Bob taught us how to swim. He also teaches kids how to play basketball. Because of this awful disease he can no longer play these sports and now walks with a cane. This disease will continue to cripple him further.

He gave us so much and we want to finally give something back to him during his time of need. This is why we are having a basketball tournament to help support him and his family.

We are organizing this special event for our Bar Mitzvah project and we need your help to make it a success. We hope to raise money for Bob’s family and the ALS Association.

Our tournament is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament so gather up your friends and make a team! It will be a fun way to play with your friends and help a good cause.

The tournament is being held on Sunday May 19th, 2013 at the Harry and Rose Samson JCC at 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd in Whitefish Bay, WI. We will have multiple age and skill divisions (see registration form).

If you aren’t a player, but would like to help out you can volunteer to help or of course just send money. We are also accepting event sponsors for $100. Let Bob know you care. Your name will appear on the back of the event T-shirt. This could be your company name and/or your family name. These T-shirts will be available for players, sponsors, and will be available for sale to the general public.

Remember the revenue goes to help Bob, his family, and ALS. All donations can be made to the Friends of Bob Aker (they are not tax-deductible) and mailed to Adam Sadoff’s home at 10815 N. Ravine Ct. Mequon, WI 53092. The tournament fee is $36 per adult, and $18 per student.

If you have any questions you can email us at buckets4bob@yahoo.com or visit our Facebook page at Bucketsforbob. A flyer for the event is attached to this message along with a registration form.

Please forward this information to your friends, parents, family and co-workers as everyone is welcome.

Hope to see you there and thanks for helping Bob and his family.

From,

Adam & Josh
