At the beginning of each season, we ask a question of our youth football program participants that helps to establish the correct attitude for being a teammate:
Who is the most important person on the field?
If you can find the courage to put your teammate’s needs, growth and achievement ahead of your own – and – possess the “want to” to expend yourself expressly for them every moment you prepare or play, you can create an environment ripe for a high level of performance, achievement and unparalleled success.
Not just for them, but for you as well.
This level of giving and a selfless commitment to others is crucial in a football sense. However, its importance transcends the game on the field. It is paramount in the game of life.
Make an investment into the lives of others as a teammate would on the field.
Be someone’s champion.
